Hey. So I got a physical just to see if everything is ok with me and I'm in good shape. I told the doctor, "So, you want me to come back in 2 weeks, right?" To which he replied, "Sure, that will be fine."

4 days later, I get a call and the receptionist tells me my doctor wants to see me regarding my test results.

I have had unprotected sex once, and I have been tested within the month. That basically means nothing, because the virus can be dormant for 6 months. Well, it is well over a year later now. I am really worried.

Well I'm one to talk, but i wouldn't in any way assume it's HIV i mean it could be a bunch of things. If there's anything abnormal they always call me in even if it's nothing they couldn't tell me over the phone- they just have to talk it out.

The other thing is, I'm fairly certain it's at 3 months that you can test 100% accurately.

Best of luck. Keep us posted. xx

Hey there,
Usually HIV is not apart of the standard testing when getting a routine physical. You have to request one, or the doctor does, but you have to give permission by the way of a signed consent form in order for the test to even take place. Usually they will to a CBC (Complete Blood Count) but this will not reflect the status of HIV in any way. If you didn't sign that form, and you didn't give consent, the HIV test didn't happen.
