Hi everyone, hope this post finds you all doing well. I will start by saying that I fully feel I am just being paranoid. I am only 28 yrs. old and have 3 children, so I know by the research I have done that I am at a relatively low risk for breast cancer. Last year around April I had an enlarged lymph node behind my right ear, went to my dr. she ordered a biopsy and it was nothing at all. About 2 months ago I found a lump on my right breast, thought it was due to my period because I know that breasts change around the week before your period, I waited until a week after my period and it is still there. When I stand in front of the mirror I can see a difference in the appearance of my left breast and right breast. There is a visibly obvious lump or tissue right under my arm onto my breast. When I lie down and feel it I can determine that it is probably a lymph node. Small, hard, and imobile. I know that there are alot of conditions that can cause enlarged lymph nodes because of all the research I did before while awaiting biopsy results. I know that the obvious answer is get it checked, better safe than sorry. I feel a little foolish going to the dr. every time I find a swollen lymph node, because I have several that I have had examined since the biopsy. I guess what I really would like to know is wouldn't I have some more distinct symptoms like nipple discharge, or feelings of really being sick or something if this was anything to worry about. I would like to hear from some people who have or have survived breast cancer. Are there more obvious symptoms that finding a lump? Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. deedea.

hi deeda, do not feel bad when you go to the doctor to get the lumps checked out. this is your life and like you said it is important to be with your children for a long long time to come. i am not a docotr just soimeone who has survived breast cancer. breast cancer can have no symptems. usually it is a lump that you find or your doctor finds during examination. yes, sometimes a lypph node can be swollen usually under your arm pit. you also could have a discharge from nipple or your breast may dimple or change in size. or you could feel great. breast cancer is a sneaky disease. go have it checked out by a doctor who will not make you feel crazy for returning all of the time. I had a very large tumor that no doctor felt, no mammogram or ultra sound showed. I had NO side effects, healthy and working out daily. You are right, breast cancer usually hits us older gals. do not be alarmed just keep going back to doctor. if the MD says they are fatty tissue then that might be another story. when you grab the node is it mushy and you can move it from side to side? is it hard? do you have history of breast cancer on your mother's side? where you on birth control? if so then i would seriously get this checked again. good luck. shelley

Thanks for replying shelly. The spot right under my arm is imobile, not really hard though, then almost diagonal from that actually on my breast are the two spots I assume are nodes. The nodes are very hard and a little mobile. Anyway, I am going to go to a walk-in clinic on Thursday. So maybe they can help me out. Thanks again. deedea.
