I just received a call that my pap smear shows I have a low-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion. They want me to see a gyncologist. Can anyone tell me what this means???

The term dysplasia is used for tissues and biopsies. When one refers to pap, the term SIL (squamous intraepithelial lesions) is used.

"What does it mean?" Means they'll want a "closer look". They'll apply simple vinagar (painless) and look for color and "texture" (tile) changes.

Hope this helps.
