Hello Everyone,
I know, I know - you can never tell anything about HIV from symptoms. That said, I'm freaking out a little right now and just need some reassurance.
I was the receptive partner during unprotected (I know) vaginal intercourse. There was no ejaculation. 8 days after the event I developed a bumpy itchy rash on my torso that is rough to the touch. It only reddens when scratched. 10 days after the possible exposure I developed swollen tonsils covered in pus. I have not had any fevers and aside from my sore throat, I feel fine. I was at the dr's office today and she's done a strep test but says that the throat is probably viral and the rash is either viral or some form of irritation/excema. I expressed my concerns and she did some research and said that she really doesn't think this is consistent with ARS and would not bother with a viral load as she doesn't feel it's necessary. What's worrying me now is that I think I might be developing a yeast infection which I did not mention. So, I just need some reassurance I guess. Could all this be related to something else and or stress? I am going to test at three months regardless, I just needed to get this out there now as my nerves are still shot. Thanks.
