last week i had 13 teeth removed 8 on top and three on the bottom that included having three widsom teeth taken out i talked to the surgeon and thinks that i am to young for them the general dentist the week before told me the same thing but thats what i want its the cheapest and it is better then having nothing at all. so my question is who has gotten dentures at a young age and did they have to hear the same thing that they are to young

Well Im 38 and the dentists consider me young. I'm getting my impressions done this morning. My husband though was in his mid 20's when he got his out. But he didnt have an option, he just went to see about dentures and the oral surgeon would NOT let him leave his office with his teeth, thats how bad they were. He even had a bone cyst!

If the rest of your teeth are fine, Id just get a partial. But if your teeth are like my husbands were, its financially not worth it. Depends on the remaining teeth and their condition. If they are perfectly fine, then I would see why your dentists will not pull them.

Upper dentures will do very nicely but I would suggest that you think twice about having a full lower denture.

Lower denture doesn't have as much surface area for the denture to adhere to, and has to deal with tongue and jaw movement.

Good luck with your decision.
