I've been having left side pain after eating for sometime now. Its also in my lower back on the left side too. It use to happen only every once in awhile. Then kept increasing over the years. Now it hurts ALL THE TIME. I've made a doctors appointiment for Monday, March 13th too get checked out.

I was wondering if anyone has had this?

Its keeping me up alot at night now. I am not constipated or no diarrhea. I eat plenty of fiber and good food.

Any suggestions would be very appreciated

Left side pain is often associated with diverticulosis/diverticulitis. This can develop even without other symptoms; even when eating plenty of fiber (what do you mean by "plenty", by the way?); even when you are completely "regular" - especially if there is a family history.

BUT, it could be other things . . . gynecological, kidneys, come to mind.

It could take exploring a couple of possibilities with your physician to pin down exactly what is going on.

Good luck!

Hi Auntjudyg: Thank you for the reply. Does kidney symptoms show up as pain on the left side or the back area? My mom has Crohns disease and I read that it can be inherited, so I watch my colon health. When I said eat plenty lol.. I meant plenty of healthy foods, not overeating them. Its weird, but today I am having no indigestion at all, but my left side back area feels inflammed a bit. Go figure lol.

You mentioned maybe it being diverticulitus. Do you know if sometimes you can be pain free and other times bent over from pain?

Thank you
Gayle

is the pain there all the time or only after you eat?

Mostly after I eat. But sometimes all night long and I have not eaten but an evening meal.

Thank you for your reply

Gayle I've had two kidney stones but I never hurt in my side, it was always in my back. My aunt cramped some in her bladder area when she had hers. Even when my kidney was completely blocked thats the only place I hurt. Could be stomach or pancreas related.
