Does anyone know of any anti-depressants that have the side effect of weight loss and not weight gain? I've been on Prozac and Celexa so far. They kill the sex drive and increase my appetite. Why can't they give me something to kill my depression AND my appetite? Does anybody know of ANYTHING?????? please respond! Thanks!

If your expeiencing these particular problems then you might want tp talk to your doctor about the anti-depressant "Wellbutrin-SR".

This drug increases sexual libido and causes weight loss. it is the only one of it's kind and is available in North America.

I would advise you asking for alow release Wellbutrin known as "SR" cause immediate release has been kown to cause problems.

I have taken it before, and works well and gives one lots of energy. if you siffer from bad anxiety and/or agitation, then I'm afraid it is not going to do you justice, but if it is just depression you would be using it for, ask about it.

Again, it's called "WELLBUTRIN-SR, or BUPROPION SLOW RELEASE. Comes in many strengths in the US if you are there, and again increases sexual drive in 77% of users and DOES cause weight loss due to it's close chemical ties to weight loss chemicals that they use in Central Nervous System Stimulants for obese patients.

Also again, it's the ONLY one in it's class that causes and combats these annoying side effects. Good luck once again.

Good Luck,
Nick

Thanks. I will look into the Wellbutrin. Yes, I am in the US. I am in Virgina. My sister takes Wellbutrin, but I don't know if it's the SR kind. Hers might be immediate release. I think it's 150 milligrams. I haven't noticed her losing any weight, but she hasn't gained any either. Thanks again, I will ask my dr. about trying it!!!

Hi - I too have gained alot of weight from Zoloft. I was on Paxil, now Zoloft. My PCP wants me to see a psychiatrist if this one doesn't work. There isn't one near me, so I feel stuck on the Zoloft. I've been trying to wean myself off, but feel horrible.
How can I tell my doctor I want to try the Wellbutrin-SR?
