The only reason so many people think the procedure itself isn't so bad is because they don't remember any of it. They think they were sleeping the whole time. That couldn't be farther from the truth. You just don't remember it because the drugs induce amnesia (kind of a "duh" thing, considering you feel the effects even afterward). I had a fleeting image of me screaming in pain during it and the next morning I woke up with bruises. Guess it was so bad they had to hold me down. Of course if you have normal intestines maybe it isn't so bad, but who knows? It's like saying dying is good if you forget the months of torture you endured before it.
