Oh I can relate to what you are going through. It is tough and very stressful. As hard as it is, you will need to relax before you study so you can concentrate. Is there any activity that puts your mind to ease? In my case, instrumental music calms me the most, so whenever I study, I take my cd player and listen to music while reading my book or notes. It works for me.
By the way, I also read my notes a couple of times, that way your brain does not take too much stress remembering a lot of terms or something all at once.
Well, I hope you feel better.

Thanks for your reply. I didn't think anybody was going to answer...well i listen to music but that sometimes distracts me, b/c i like to listen to soft music the type that makes you sad and want to cry so. So i guess that doesn't help. I also like to exercise that is usually a good pre-occupier... http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gifthanx once a again

I'm not sure if you are on medication or not but ginko biloba is a good herb for helping you think more clearly and remembering things. You might have to check and see if it is ok to take this with the medicine you are on. It is also a blood thinner. I have used it and it helps with brain fog thinking.

The concentration problems, anxiety and depression can be caused by one another. The depression ruins the concentration, makes u feel you have a short term memory problem, or that you have the memory of a gnat (about 5 seconds.) If the depression itself is chronic and you have thoughts of suicide, You need to seek help immediately. Anxiety can cause depression, concentration and memory problems. If you lost interest in life, if all is dull and gray around u. If you are thinking of dark thoughts and thoughts of suicide.. Please seek help imediately, if u do not know where to start, This messageboard itself has a resource page. If it is real serious and you know of a suicide hotline number, make the call... find a free clinic or even speak to a counceller at school.
The depression could be caused by numous issues, my bad spelling isn't one of them. Once all the organic causes have been rulled out then then your mental health needs to worked on. DO NOT BE EMBARRASSED OR ASHAMED by ANY OF THIS.
There are some herbal remedies that might help you.
from treating of anxiety, concentration, depression.
If these solutions do not help or cause some side effects, u will need to be treated the traditional way. Doctor's, and chemicals (as in a prescription) If u can anot afford either, tell your doctor and have a payment plan set up for payment. As for medications? ask your doctor for freebies.
If u do take prescription drugs, beware there are side effects and nothing will cure you in one day.
Good luck, Take care...
(an as stupid as this is going to sound, Think Positive.)

Yes, I suffer from chronic depression and all that you mentioned are the thought's that are with me all the time. I use to go to a counsellor but stopped going because it wasn't helping so i just gave up..Im actually going to a new counsellor hopefully in July. I went to my dr 2 months ago and she prescribed some anti-depressants but im to scared to take them b/c i don't want to rely on meds or get addictive..i guess i'll just see how things go...thanks guys!
