Every ten minutes or so, I get a buzzing sensation behind my right ankle. It only last about 3 or 4 seconds. Ten days after this started, I started getting these twitches in my lower legs. I only feel them when I lay down for the evening. I found out that I have spondylolisthesis, 8mm of slippage, but my nuerosurgeon doesn't believe this is the cause of the buzzing or twitching. any ideas out there? Thanks.

Have you taken any antibiotics in the last few months? Such as Cipro, Levaquin, Tequin, Avelox? Buzzing sensations (signs of nerve damage) are a very common side-effect of these drugs, as are muscle fasciculation (the twitching you mention). Side effects from this class of drugs (flouroquinolones) can appear for months after treatment is stopped, and can persist for years or even be permanent.

Yes the buzzing sensation is a sign of nerve damage, which is also very common after a broken bone.
