Hi, ive had a recent problem that ive had before but its usally a rare occurance ive only had it twice including this time and the first time ive had it, its been about mabe spread over a week (was about year or two ago so memory is sketchy about it).

while i was taking a nap on the couch today i woke up and hopped on the computer and noticed something felt wierd in my belly button area, i pulled up my shirt and looked down and say my bellow button basicly coverd in dry blood.

during this whole week ive been having wierd stomach pains. its almost like mabe something is stuck inside my belly button or something inside my stomach is lodged in there. it was hard to move forward and such while i was sitting down because i felt that wierd pain.(i never had any bleeding during that time)

then after what happened today with the bleeding it feels like the pain died down. it doesnt hurt as much, and it makes me think that mabe i just had a pus infection or something down there and mabe it poped or something, because the blood isnt really blood it looks like theres some pus mixed in with it.

anyone have any idea what this might be? i still feel alittle pain down there but no where as much as i did before.

i dont know if this will help find out whats been wrong but before i had these problems i remember sticking something in my belly button to clean it out then there was some blood and i belive that might have been the way i started having these problems.

one more thing, i rarely sleep on my stomach anymore because i sleep on the couch and it really doesnt feel good to lay on my stomach on the couch so i was wondering mabe this had something to do with it?

oh btw its still kinda bleeding but it looks like pus-blood now. and its not bleeding massivly its just little.

thanks for your help!

There is a parasitic roundworm, species ascaris lumbricoides, that causes ascariasis in humans. After a human has ingested its egs via fecal-oral contact, the eggs, after lodging in the small intestines or lungs, develop into adult worms inside the host. The adult worm then emerges from the anus, mouth, nose or navel.
Could you possibly have this infection? Without treatment, the worms can cause intestinal obstruction or pneumonia, but the treatment is widely available - mebendazole or piperazine. Easy for a medical practitioner to diagnose by looking for eggs in the stool. This kind of worm infection is the most widespread in the world, and is common in the U.S.A.

Go to the doctor and bring a stool sample. Ask for an "O&P" - an ova and parasites test. They'll look for evidence worm eggs in the stool. It is very easy to contract a worm infection by eating something that is contaminated with worm eggs, which you wouldnt' have been able to see. It may also be a protozoan parasite, rather than a worm. FYI - be very specific with your doctor about your symptoms, and sometimes you may find, that nurses are more familiar with worm and parasite isuues than doctors are.
