I was tested back in August of 05 and it was nonreactive...tested again early March also nonreactive. I have been with the same partner for over 9 months now and we are both monogomas. I was however diagnosed w/ herpes 2 weeks ago when they tested for the HIV. How realiable shoud these 2 test be? Whats the time frame?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but if you were tested once, then even if you were infected the day before you were tested the first time, a test 3 months later would be 100% accurate. So 7 months later is perfectly accurate and there's no need to retest or anything.

Well, 54, the actual percentage might vary depending upon who you ask. I believe a test at 3 months is 80% accurate. Others say 90% or 99%. Whatever the percentage is, a test at 3 months IS considered conclusive. So, a test at 7 months is just that much more definite...and a retest would NOT be necessary.
I hope this helps.
