Hey. I got a filling at the Begining of the week well about 5 days ago now. I have noticed when I eat foods that are quite hard such as the crust of a pizza or crisps it' really hurts when I bite on that tooth. it's fine for soft food though. I was just woundering is the normal I havn't had a filling before so not really sure.

What kind of filling did you get? It seems like to composite fillings take longer to feel better. Mine have bothered me off an on, but are getting a whole lot better now (its been about 1.5 - 2 months). I got a lot of old fillings replaced, and the lower left side was bothering me like you describe. They thought it was possibly a bite problem (just got it adjusted, so I cant say if it worked or not yet). It would be worth asking about if it doesnt start feeling better in a few weeks.

I'm not sure what time of filling it is. I though a filling was a filling. it's white but I don't think that would make much difference.

It's not a ever so deep filling I know that much.

Thank you for your help :)

Hi there,
if it was a white filling, it is a composite filling. It seems like there are more problems with sensitivity if one gets the composite type filling. I would give it a couple more weeks and then ask my dentist about it. As long as the discomfort does not get worse, and actually gets better, or less frequent, you'll probablyl be fine! Good luck :)
