I posted earlier about having the following symptoms:
-gurgling stomach all day
-acidic taste in mouth
-occasional dull pains in different parts of stomach
-slight nausea in morning
-belching
-bloating
-headache
-water eyes

I live in Paris, and my doctor prescribed nexium and domperidone (which I think the FDA banned). He thinks I may have a motility issue apparently. I don't see how thats possible since I go to the bathroom almost three times a day.

I had an upper GI and everything came back normal except a petit hiatal hernia...only 2cm

I also suffer from anxiety and its been especially bad at work lately. My gut feeling (no pun intended) is that anxiety is creating the stomach discomfort.

Should I see a specialist and have more tests run? my symptoms don't appear to be related to a hernia, despite what my doc says. I haven't taken the meds yet because a) I hate medicine and b) I want to make sure this is my only option. Not to mention, I'm not thrilled about taking a banned substance.

I'd appreciate any help....this kind of crap only adds to my anxiety! :-)

if he think's you have a motility problem you should go for a motility test motility has nothing to do with you being able to go to the bathroom it has to do with your esphogus and not being able to get thing's down the right way i have a motility problem so i do know what it is i also have gerd and you need a ph probe done for that i think you should go see a specilist because nexium will not help a motility problem also get a barium swallow and a ct scan for the problems with the bloating and pain in your gut and you are right i wouldn't take a drug that has been banned they might also want to do a colonoscopy to check your instestine's i would get a second opinion if i was you

Spider,

Are you able to lead a normal life? maintain a healthy weight? I'm really worried that it will end up being gastroparesis, and its going to seriously impair the quality of life.

Have you been tested for Celiac Disease? Alot of your symptoms match with that disease. Just a thought!
