I had started getting a scratchy throat about 3 days ago and the next day it turned worse. The only problem I have though is swollen tonsils and difficulty breathing, no fever or anything else. Instead of going to a doctor my step mother gave me some antibiotics - It was a new pack of zithromax z-pack. I figured I'm sure the stuff will work. Come 3 days after I've been taking it and it's not better. I know I need to go to a doc but what do I tell him that my step mom just gave me antibiotics? And should i stop taking the zithromax?

If the Z Pack works, it'll take another day or so to show it. it's a 5 day regimen that continues to work for almost 2 weeks...if you spike a fever now though - it may be a reaction to the Z-Pack.
