I had pain in the upper gum area for a few months...long story short, the upper molar needed a root canal. Done.
The pain still persisted..so they did an APICO...scraped the bone and cleaned it up.
Pain was still there. The Oral Sugeon decided that the tooth needed pulled. That was 10 days ago. I have been in pain the whole time. It was a throbbing pain for about 5 days, and now just pain and a low grade fever. Two days ago, I get this horrible sinus infection...it seemed to happen over night. The doctor told me the root of the tooth was so far up in the jawbone that it exceeded into the sinus cavity....when the tooth was pulled, the bacteria from the root and infection went into my sinuses.
I did some research on this and found out that this is possible. I am now on antibiotics for two days. It is still very tender in the original place, way before the root canal was done (upper part of the jaw bone)...
Can someone tell me what the heck is going on here? Does this type of surgery and the complications take longer than usual to heal?
Along with the pain, I am a Flight Attendant and can not fly until this is taken care of. Does anyone have a suggestion or has had an experience similar to this? Thank you ahead of time!
