This is kinda of a strange question but has anyone experienced REALLY dry nipples? So dry that they crack and bleed, and at times ich. I'm kinda uncomfortable in going to the doctor about this so I figure I would try some lotions/ creams first before saying anything. Any ideas....

Yes, it sounds like thrush. I got it when I was breastfeeding my daughter. I'm not sure how you would get thrush on your nipples though if your not breastfeeding?

I got this while breastfeeding my son... dryness, flaking, and chapping.
Lotion won't help, because the skin on your nipples is not like the rest of your skin and won't absorb lotion. Like the skin on your lips, it doesn't have pores.
Vaseline or some other kind of lubricant or petroleum jelly is your best bet.

Hi  I had the same thing happen to me 18 years ago. It was right after my son was born. I didn't breast feed him either. It freaked me out when i saw blood inside my bra. I went to the doctor and all he said was I have dry and cracked nipples. I used gold bond cream and it fix it up right away.

You can get eczema of the nipples. See a dermatologist if it doesn't clear up soon.

I have heard of women using olive oil to help clear up the dryness.
