I have been on nexium for about two years now, and when I started take it I just have something coming up in my throat and I would have heartburn sometime may be about two or three time a week, My doctor put me on two nexium a day for one month and then back to one a day, it stop the burning in my throat and the feeling of something in my throat, I could swallow and swallow and it still would feel like it was still there ,the nexium stop that, but now I have the most gas in my stomach , and it is so bad it will go up in my back and it feel like it is going in my throat to, it hurt so bad, I did not have any stomach pain at all until I started take nexium, Do anyone think that the nexium could be what make me have so much gas.
sometime the gas is so bad it feel like I have a ball in my left side and then it will go up in my back, it will be like that for about one hrs. and go a way, and it maybe a three or four weeks before I have it again, but beleave me that it all one would want.
the nexium stop the heartburn and the throat thing, as long as I take it, but if I go for one day with out it the heartburn will come right back.
I think maybe it stop onething and make you have two or three more things.

Keep some Maalox Max on hand or Phazme or store brand of simethicone to get rid of the gas. There are some Drs. that will switch the drugs for acid reflux on a rotating basis so you might try one of the others like Prevacid, Aciphex or Protonix for a while. As someone that has gas all the time I know what a problem it can be. I would love to have it only once in awhile.

I got a lot of gas everyday since I start taking Protonix, gas going out at my a**.
