For those of you out there who have probiotics as a part of your diet and GERD management, I have a question. In what form do you take them? Do you eat yogurt, or take a supplement? And if you eat yogurt, how much in a typical day?

Thanks,
Karen

I don't do yogurt, as dairy gives me problems (also I don't like it!). I just ordered a probiotic capsule off the internet. It contains many different kinds of bacteria, or whatever it is that makes them work. I haven't taken them yet because I also ordered digestive enzymes and I thought I should not take them both to start. I'm starting with the digestive enzymes then I'll add the probiotic. I'm also thinking of seeing an alternative medicine doctor. In briefly talking to an acquaintance who goes to one, they were told no dairy, no red meat, lots of water, and were put on a heavy duty mulit-vitamin, plus digestive enzymes and probiotics. I'm not sure what other supplements. Anyone else try an alternative medicine doctor? I'm frustrated with my GI doctor who doesn't think all my weird symptoms are related to GERD.

Hi!

See my post here regarding digestive enzymes, acidophilus, and DGL (licorice root). I can't begin to tell you how they have helped my LPR.

I noticed that the link to the thread didn't work. My post is located in the thread titled:

I use products by *********, "GIZyme" and "GI Pro". They seem to have helped, good luck
