im a student at university of louisiana at lafayette and im working on a project that focuses on civility and social consciosness.
my focal area involves runners or joggers which ever you prefer.
i am trying to gain research on:
why do people jogg? is it just for health reasons or is it for spiritual or they just like to do it.
how many people jog?
etc.etc.
this project is trying to bring this type of culture closer together

any in formation or ideas will be very helpful in furthering my research
thank you

You'll get all kinds of answers. For some, it's a great way to relieve stress and clear your mind. Others do it for the cardiovascular benefits. And for others, it's about weight management. Running is certainly a great way to burn off excess fat. I think you'll also find that many runners like to run because it gives them time to be alone. That was certainly a big reason why I used to run. I never really cared for team sports and hated dealing with the crowds at the gym. Plus it's very cheap and convenient. You don't have to buy expensive equipment, reserve court time, or buy a membership to some club. It's an excuse to get outdoors. And as I discovered in college, it's a great way to meet girls in short running shorts. :)

thank you both Rianne and OutToLunch
another question i have, and you hinted on it OTL, is do you believe, think, or know if people would want to meet people while running.
possibly gain a small or major friendship from their encounters

my project focuses on bring people together, forming new relations, and becoming civil to one another.

if any ideas come to mind it will be most helpful of any type of product or possibly a system

thanks again

please spread the word in other forums
the more information the better

thanks again
