this may be a stupid question but is there any way to burn protein? cuz im afraid if i drink protein shakes and possibly take a jog soon after that it may be a waste of protein shake hmmm :confused:

It's not a waste. Your body *can* burn protein, but blood sugar, carbohydrates and fat are preferred fuel sources. In fact, a shake before hand (just protein, minimal carbs) will help prevent muscle loss during cardio. Nothing to worry about.

I drink protein before and after both my cardio workouts and weight lifting workouts. It is not a waste; it is a smart strategy to prevent muscle loss and increase the anabolic response to training.
