It is not normal to have diarrhea after having a colon exam. You are suppose to be cleaned out.
I suggest you try eating dry cereal, dry toast or saltine crackers.
The thing I always take is a water soluble fiber supplement like Metamucil -- it works for diarrhea as well as constipation.
Does your husband have IBS that is primarily diarrhea type???

I agree with Harry. I would have him start a BRATT diet....bananas, rice, applesauce, tea & toast. This is easy on the digestive tract and should help him out a litttle bit. Is he on any antibiotics???? Sometimes that may cause the diarrhea as well.
If it continues I would suggest getting in touch with the doctor who performed the colonoscopy. The diarrhea shouldn't persist after resuming a regular diet unless there is something else going on.
Good luck!!! ~ Goody

Hey Guys-
Thank you for the suggestions on the diet. He had the colonoscopy because there is a history of colon cancer in the family and he also developed a fistula from an abcess. The fistula goes from his intestines to the outside. He will be scheduled for surgery soon for that. Everything else turned out fine except for the darned diareah. Iw will post back when his surgery comes up. It might help someone else going through the same ordeal.
Thanks again- Nikki
