Hi everyone,
My husband found out he was diabetic a couple of years ago. I am now battling three open wounds on his leg. The dr said the medication he is taking for his diabetes is the cause of water retention thus the reason for the blisters that caused two of the open wounds he has now. Anywho, the dr mentioned something about a wet to dry dressing on them. I was not there so am not sure what I am looking for when I take the bandage off and or for how long I will need to do this. I hate hurting him every morning and evening and it seems to hurt more every time. Please advise! I do worry about it being so wet or moist all the time. I have been using less and less water on the guaze so maybe that's the reason it is hurting more now maybe? Heck I don't know. I do not understand how these sores can heal with wet to dray dressing. My husbands leg hurt for about half hour after changing this time and I just don't know if I am doing it right or what.
Thank you,
Angie
