I have a skinny body. My arms and legs are thin. All my fat goes to my abs. I tried to do situps but they don't seem to help. I don't want to cut down on my eating because the other areas of my body will be too thin. How can I get rid of the ab fat or distribute it somewhere else???

i have this EXACT problem. i used to run a lot and that helped. my legs didn't get any smaller because i gained muscle in them but my stomach got a whole lot smaller. sit ups don't really do much when you do them alone, is my experience.

You must eat less to burn fat. There is no way, short of lipo, to lose fat only in your belly. Spot reduction (exercise targeting fat in one place) is a myth. Ab exercises will never strip fat. And it cannot be redistributed. Your genetic blueprint determines where you gain fat first and lose it last, and you have to follow the same fat loss stretegy anyone would to get the body to burn it off. You need to eat less, eat clean, and start some cardio like running or swimming. You may want to do some strength training for some good, healthy muscle tone and to keep from looking skinny as well as to boost metabolism and help with fat loss.

Don't dispair about the ab exersises. They take more time (and reps) than other muscles. Just don't give up. Research (or ask a trainer) to make sure you are doing them correctly (and don't leave out lower abs) and keep at it. I thought they didn't work at first because my other muscles all improved in just days but my abs just needed more time. Running is great too (more fun with a dog!) and its a better all round workout but it IS more work.
What you eat does matter too (no salt, drink lots of water and eat grains to aid with digestion probs). You can do it!
