Don’t lose hope! I had been trying to conceive our 1st child for 15 months & charting my bbt for 1 year. I never had a luteal phase longer than 11 days and often it was as short as 7 days. I was convinced that I would not be able to maintain a pregnancy with such a short luteal phase. Went to a specialist & she said my progesterone seemed to be a bit low but she wanted me to have all the other tests done to rule out anything else. My DH also had a spermanalysis done. I checked out fine but we found out he had a very high white blood cell count, so he was put on 6 weeks of antibiotics for a presumed infection (he had no symptoms at all). We just found out 2 days ago that I am pregnant & we would have conceived about 5 weeks after he started the antibiotics! So it appears as though it was his “hidden” infection that prevented us from getting pregnant, not my short luteal phase. But the weird thing is that we would never have known about his problem if I hadn’t been referred to the specialist for a short luteal phase. Also, I would never have known I had a short luteal phase if I didn’t chart my bbt’s because my cycle was still an average of 28 days, I just ovulated later in my cycle. So I definitely recommend charting, but don’t lose hope if you find out you do have a short luteal phase. You can still get pregnant! Best of luck to all of you!

Thanks for all the good wishes everyone!
Pinkie1 - I only had my "day 21" progesterone checked once (was actually day 27 for me since I ovulated late that month) & it was 13, which is apparently at the very low end of the normal range.
Layla - sorry, don't know anything about long luteal phase.
Ask away if anyone else has any questions. I go to the specialist again on Monday so hopefully I'll have a better idea then of how things are progressing.
