I have been playing the trumpet now for three years. Not until this year has my finger ever bothered me. When you hold the trumpet you wrap you pinky around this little loop thing lol. During or after i play it's like my finger is double jointed and I can bend the top part. It is really starting to bother me because it not only hurts after i play but it will just start hurting for no reason at all. And when it does it feels like it is cold at the same time. And now it sometimes will hurt and then my wrist will ache. What does it sound like i did??

sounds like carpal tunnel to me. This is condition (and pardon the spelling if I've got it wrong) where the bones or surrounding tissue in your wrist, swell up and either pinch nerves or cut of a small amount of blood flow. It is not surprising that you haven't experiance it until now, it is commonly a stress related condition seen in people who have jobs or activities in which they do not maintain proper posture so as to prevent these injuries/conditions. Carpal tunnel is commonly associated with people who have arthritis, or who spend a lot of time typing on the computer. As for treatment, I would suggest starting a Calcium/magnesium supplement, and seeing a doctor and/or chiropractor.
Hope this helps.

Thanks, but it isn't usually in my wrist. Mostly just to my little fingers knuckle.

any trouble in your wrist, when involving nerves or blood vessles can cause problems in your hands and fingers, numbness, cold to the touch, or hypersensative skin are three of the most common things people experiance. In either case I would suggest you get a doctors opinion.

first, carpal tunnel doesn't usually effect the pinky. As a second, try resting your pinky on top of the half loop you have been wrapping your pinky around, Yes I play trumpet and that's what my band teacher in highschool recommended... its not there to hold your trumpet up, thats what your left hands for.
