My 63 mother has recently been told she has two metastatic brain tumors. It seems they spread from her renal cell carcinoma (kidney tumor) from 1999. They removed her kidney thinking they had it. About a year and a half she had lymphoma and went through chemo. It has been in remission for a year and a half. Now this the doctor says its inoperable and she doesn't want radiation. He said with treatment three to six months. Does anyone have any info on this type of cancer and the outcom witout treatment.

Just wanted to let those of you who are reading this know my mother lived two months from the time she was DX. It was truly awful to watch her suffer through this. She opted to not undergo radiation treatment, which was her only option.

With the type of tumors she had they were not operable. The only treatment was radation even with treatment she was only looking at 3-6 months she didn't want to prolong her suffering or the family's. Without treatment about 1-3 months. She said she just couldn't see going thru it for that amount of time.

there is a discussion on another forum with treatment for brain tumors.
I think you should read it and decide your options.
