Hi,

Im abit concerned about Deep Vein Thrombosis.
Im currenlty not doing anything really and just lying around the house all day and that and maybe going out once and again.
Just abit worried because im not gettin that much exercise and always watching tv and playign computer games that i could get Deep Vein Thrombosis in my legs?
So is there any chance i could get this?
Im a male and im 17 years old and i have never had any other health problems.

Well I lazed around for about 2 years with no problems but just make sure to get up and walk every few hours (at least!)
I had no health problems either (I was 19 when I got it) but I got DVT due to spraining my ankle and being on the pill (increases your chances).
I wouldn't say your chances are high, but then again, anything is possible.
Oh, and it's not as uncommon in young people as you would think. I've been told of many young women who have got it JUST from the pill! How evil is that?

Well youre young and a male, so those factors lower your risk, however only your risk to DVT but not to heart disease, get some exercise, try hiding the remote to the tv and stereo, put the telephone in a place where you have to move to pick it up. You're young, live your life, I wish I had now it's restricted to very little movement and wish I had done more.
