Hello all, I have had pretty significant TMJ pain for years.
I had a surgeon who wanted to operate on my jaw because he could tell it was continuously slipping even after extensive splint therapy. I eventually declined due to finances and researching success rates etc.
I also have significant bulging disk issues in my neck for which I have been taking 2 vicoprofen a day for quite a while now to take the edge off the nerve pain.
I have noticed lately that I haven't really been focusing on my jaw. While the neck pain still lingers, the medicine seems to really help the TMJ.
I know it's a narcotic, but I don't get high or anything, it just helps with pain.
Does anyone else take this type of medicine on a somewhat regular basis for TMJ? I'm just curious as it's very effective but no doctor I saw ever saw for TMJ recommended it for that purpose.

I have taken it a few times for pain but for me narcotics just make me high, and I don't care, it really doesnt help the pain. I really need to be careful because I really like being on them!
