I recently discovered 100 cal rice cake snack packs... I LOVE them because they do limit me to a smaller portion (i.e. it's okay if I eat the whole bag!)... But are they 'healthy'? Is 100 cal a lot for a snack in the afternoon?

Thanks!

100 calories is nothing for an afternoon snack! enjoy your treat! for a little added health and fullness, you might want to add a piece of fruit, but if just the 100-calorie pack sustains you, then stick with it!

Keep in mind that rice cakes are very high GI, so you would want to have something with a considerable amount of fat and or fiber with it to slow absorbtion (such as peanut butter).

I am so unhappy that my favorite dollar store (Jack's in Manhattan) has stopped getting rice cakes.
At 25 calories each, they were the PERFECT snack.
