During a physical I was tender in the pelvic area on the right side. So the doctor recommended I have a CT scan. The report shows a 6X5 cm septated cyst on the right side. They can not tell if it is benign or melegnant. I had a hysterectomy 2 years ago and the doctor left the right ovary. The cyst was covering the ovary so the technechian could not see it. I also have an 1.5 cm umbiblical (sp?) hernia. Also, on the left side there is a mass that the reports describes as possibly a Lipoma. I am trying not to be too worried about any of this....but that is easier said than done. Can any body tell me some possibilities and maybe what I should expect from the doctor? I have an appointment with my OBGYN on Friday. I am dealing with so much right now. I am having TMJ problems and was to get a 2nd opinion on Monday from a new oral surgeon, but all that might have to wait. I think I need to deal with the cyst etc. first. It can all be so overwelming! :confused:

Is there not anyone that has been through this? I think I am falling apart. First I start with jaw problems, then I find out that my blood test shows that I have arthritis and now I've been told that I have a 6x5 cm cyst growing in my pelvic area....have you ever felt like you just want to sit in a corner, cry and ask God why? I am a woman of strong faith in God. I'm just struggling with all this stuff. I've always been healthy....before my hysterectomy I had never had any surgeries and rarely used any of my sick leave. I'm getting overwelmed.

Hi Clencher, I am sorry you are going through this. It is clear you have several concerns right now, having found out you have arthritis as well as jaw problems. Now to hear you have a cyst, a hernia and possible lipoma in the pelvis must be very worrying. But try not to worry too much until you find out what is really going on. All these conditions may be benign. Let us know how the appointment goes today and how they are going to proceed.

Thank you for responding. The appointment today went well. The doctor could not feel the mass physically, he said that was actually a good sign because he said that means that it is soft and "squishy." Malignancy's are most commonly hard. He said it will have to be removed, along with my remaining right ovary. The hernia will need to be repaired and the doctor would need to examine the possible lipoma. I am going to see a OBGYN specialist in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. I do not wish to have my surgery in my small town. I had my hysterectomy done here and had a nightmare experience with the hospital staff. Thanks again. I saw rays on His Sonshine today leading me down the path. Jereimiah 29:11 :)

Jeremiah 29:11 has been one of my favorite verses for a long time. Though we go through all kinds of hard times and struggles, praise God that with Christ as our Savior the best is yet to come!
