hi everyone

if someone eats all bran flakes with skim milk and a fruit for breakfast and for the rest of the day only consumes fruit and veggies.protein from tuna at dinner and milk/yoghurt during the day.....

is it too low calorie?

i am eating this way because i LOVE fruit and veggies more than anything!

i am just a bit unsure....it might be too low cal?or is it fine to eat this way?

Are you maintaining the weight you would like? If so, your regime is not too low calorie.

Does it provide all the nutrients you need? That's another question. IMHO, it does not seem to provide enough protein or essential fats. And, over time, I think it is not such a good idea to be eating so much dairy every day. Getting nutrients from a variety of sources is something that just about everyone agrees is best.

Ankh,

Never mix up QUANTITY and QUALITY. A piece of fruit will help with weight loss, a truckful will not...eating "fruits and vegetables all day" lies somewhere between these extremes.
In dietary terms, a can of tuna is vastly different from 2 cans of tuna and the same goes for the difference between a cupful and a bowlful of cereal.

When you talk about weight control you MUST talk about precise quantities of food or there is no meaning. THe diet you describe can be either too low, normal or too high in calories depending on quantities.
