My 11 month old son is grinding his teeth constantly. It drives me crazy it is the worst sound. I am getting worried he might break his teeth. His dad does the same thing and has broken his teeth. I have tried everything from teething rings, orajel to get his mind off it, but nothing seems to work. Any suggestions????????????????????????????? ??????????????? Thanks

My daughter is doing the same thing and she is 8.5 months old and has already chipped a bottom tooth. Not sure what to do - some one told me to let them have their pacifier - but I don't want her to become dependent on that either......I could use some advice too!
Me too!! My 14 month has chiped one of her top teeth recently from grinding her teeth. I usually give her her bottle to try and stop it or distract her with something. Of course if Daddy is in the room I get out as quick as poss and let him deal with it cause the sound goes straight through me!

I'm curious about this too, does it not help when you tell them "NO". It worked when he was biting me? I would scream in pain, and he would stop immediatly.

Well last night I was at the Dentist for my 6 month cleaning and asked her about the teeth grinding with my daughter and she said that once she gets her molars she should stop - my god, that could be forever. Sure she has 4 teeth already - but there will be nothing left of them by the time those come in.
Any one else have any advise?

Babies who are getting there teeth in usually will grind there teeth because all there teeth are coming in at different times and there bite is uneven. As they are grinding they are chipping away tiny bits of theeth to try to get there bites as even as possible. And chances are they are probably doing it with out realizing it.
