View Full Version : Strokes in the Eye

My otherwise healthy, 78 year old mother recently experienced blurred vision. Her opthamologist told her she had suffered a stroke in her eye (her blood pressure is normal to below normal). He also told her she could expect more and would probably go blind in that eye within 6 months. He said there are no treatments/drugs that can prevent this. Does anyone know of anything that could help? Thanks, Worried Daughter.

Well, I'm no doctor, but I'd think a blood "thinner" like aspirin, or coumadin would prevent clots. There are anti-plaque medications too. Wouldn't she be treated like any patient at risk of stroke?
