Bananas are exceptionally good for you. And it will stimulate the brain. However, it's extremely fattening. What I sometimes do, for a desert, is cut a banana in half, add a teaspoon of peanut butter. This is a healthy snack. A full banana a day will add calories, as someone mentioned above.

I think bananas are delicious and filling. They have 3.1 grams of dietary fiber, a goodly pile of fiber, lots of potassium, and almost no fat.
A snack WELL worth the 110 calories.
I try to have one a day if I can time them right, which is tough. (I can't stand the taste of an underripe banana.)

I've been eating one every day in a smoothie. I put 1 banana, 4 strawberries, milk, plain yogurt and ice cubes in a blender. It all goes down so easy and if something isn't as ripe as it's supposed to be you can't tell. You can also put banana and peach together or banana and rasberries in the smoothie. Lots of combo's work good. It's a good way to get the nutrition from the banana and other fruits and makes it easy to go down. It packs more fruit then a person normally eats in a day into a drink. I make sure to blend very well and then I can drink it through a straw.

Kari,
Your smoothies sound good with one exception.
I always avoid drinking milk and yoghurt (or kefir) together because the warmth of the stomach is apt to allow continued lactose fermentation when the lactose buggies get ahold of the new milk. It can make for gassy day.
