i woke up yesterday morning and my left nipple was really hurting... but i ignored it since i sometimes get pain in my nipples when they are sore. but now its the middle of the night and i can't ignore the pain anymore. i looked and realized that inside the nipple area, it is a lot harder than my right nipple. could this be a breast lump that causes breast cancer? or could this be related to PMS? i have no idea when i'm supposed to get my period because i'm quite irregular...

Any lump should be checked by your doctor. It's possible that you could have a cyst if it hurts like that, but get it checked ok.
