Hi Guys,

You must be sick of hearing me moan at this point. I am going nuts here. I had my ultrasound done on Wednesday and I haven't heard yet, but I have myself totally convinced it is something very bad. The doctor told me to call her a week after my appointment, but the woman who did the ultrasound said it would be on her desk in a day or two, which would mean today. I don't think I can take this all weekend. I want to call but I am so scared. I am honestly convinced that I have some terrible cancer. I have been bleeding pretty steadily since March 7th, but have been spotting, with an hour or two of heavy bleeding thrown in, since January 27th. I thought it was slowing down on Tuesday when I went to see the doctor, but after my internal on Tuesday, and the ultrasound on Wednesday, I am flowing heavily again - a super plus tampon every 1 - 3 hours. Today, I am seeing small clots again, and I have some pelvic soreness. I work at my desk (out of my home) all day, so my back tends to bother me after long hours, but now I'm "sure" it is cancer. Why do we do this to ourselves? I keep telling myself that I had a CT scan of the pelvis and abdomen a year ago, so if it was something bad, it would only have had a year to grow. But it isn't helping at this point. The ultrasound tech did say she saw no fibroids, but said nothing else, so of course I figure it is WAY worse than fibroids. UGHHHHH!!! What else could it be besides cancer????

I guess I will call later on if I dont' hear anything. The "knowing" cannot possibly be worse than what I'm going thru at this minute. :blob_fire

Hello again,

Sweetie, let's slow down a bit. Okay, you are bleeding, you are in peri right? This is not uncommon, my employee who is 44 has been spotting and bleeding every day for a couple of years, she has no fibroids either and does have some clotting. She went through all the tests ans was convinced that it was something awful, then after a biopsy the specialist said...perimenopause...she's now having a procedure that will stop the bleeding, I forget what it's called but she has no awful disease. Next thing, you had a CT which I think is much more detailed than an ultrasound, it was clear correct? I'm sure that if they found something they would have called you by now, they have to, the results are probably at your doctors office only the doctor doesn't want to see you until he is ready. If it was a bad result he would have called you in by now.
I know how you feel, I go through it every time. The best thing for you to do is just call the office and get the results and then you can relax and have a great weekend.
Try to not worry, do you have any meds for anxiety? I'm not pushing drugs but sometimes it's necessary. Keep in touch.

I haven't had a period in 2 years, but when I did I passed blood clots the size of 50 cent pieces. Real bad cramps. When I sit down and then got up it felt like it was going to run down my leg any minute. Couldn't go anywhere. Had to change clothes couple times a day. Doctor told me if I couldn't stand it could have it all removed. It lasted I want to say about a year maybe less. Tried hormones but they gave me headache and stomach ache. It was really scarey. I hope this helps. I wish I'd had someone to talk to when I was going thru it.

Hi Mary,

Thank you so much. You have calmed me down a bit. And yes, I did take an Attivan this morning because I have been so worked up over this. Last year I was in the same boat when a Pelvic and Abdominal CT scan showed "something alarming" on my pancreas. I had to have an EUS after that, and it was fine. So all of my organs were fine as of last February. As my doctor told me then, I had had the equivalent of a living autopsy done. At that point, though, I had regular periods, but was having recurrent nausea. Since then, I have chalked the nausea up to peri. I guess its all the bleeding that has me worried, and just fed up. I will call the doctor this afternoon, and see what I can find out. Thanks to all of your for your support and patience. I can't tell you what it means to me.

The woman who did it told me the doctor would have ithe results in "a day or so". I had it done on Wednesday morning, so I figured I would call today so I wouldn't have to be crazy over the weekend. Well, I called and they still don't have the results. The woman I spoke with said they sometimes take a while to write up, and that if I don't hear anything by Monday or Tuesday, all is okay and I will get a postcard in the mail. Okay, so part of me is going nuts with that, and part of me is saying if there were something bad, they would be calling me sooner. So now, I am free for the weekend, but come Monday and Tuesday, I will be on pins and needles, freaking out every time the phone rings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If they haven't sent the doctor the results it probably means that there is nothing urgent to report right? Do you really think that they would just leave bad results on a table while you wait...no way, if there was something there they would red line it and send it off to your doctor the same day. The reason your doctor doesn't have the results yet is because there is nothing to report. I bet you a banana split that everything is fine, let us know when you get the good news.
Have a calm and happy weekend.
Mary

Wow, Mary, you are good! Now if only I could get my stomach to stop churning enough to get down a banana split! ;)

Do you listen to your own advice, too? :D

My experience has been that if it is bad news they get back to you quickly. Try to relax
