ok so i have been on the pill for years. i am usually done my active pills by thursday and then my period starts sunday. however, this month, my period started yesterday (friday) which is only one day after i finished up the active pills. when my period starts on sunday it usually ends on thursday when i start a new pack. my question is, does the pill stop your period when you start a new pack of the active pills? will my period still only be 5 days as usual or will it last 7 this time since i started 2 days early and dont start a new pack until thursday?! HELP!

There is no way to know how long your period will last. Ideally, since your period started early, it should end early as well. The pill doesn't just "stop" your period when you start your new pack, either, although it may slow down your flow. However, I wouldn't recommend starting your new pack early just to shorten your period. It probably wouldn't cause any problems, but it's best to keep your cycle regular if you want a regulated cycle.
