My wife has a history of having dizzy lightheaded episodes that last up to 10 minutes each time. She's had many test and Doctors have not been able to pin point exact cause. She takes Micardis/Hct 80/12.5 for her BP and Meclizine 25mg twice a day for her dizziness. Today she had a bad spell so I took her BP during the dizzy spell. It was 120/90 pulse 60? I was concerned with the systolic and diastolic being so close together? After about 15 minutes she said she felt better and her BP went to 130/70. She has a Doctor's appointment Wed. I will be going with her as I am getting very concerned. With the BP numbers being so close, is that a reason to be concerned.

Bill,
She's got an inner ear thing going on...it's the season for it. I doubt her BP has much to do with it.
How long has it been going on?
My otologist said that a good drug regimen is diuretic + meclizine. Perhaps she should think about more of the thiazide to lower the fluid pressure in the inner ear, perhaps a trial with 50 mg.? Maybe a try at Lasix to see if that gets to the core of the problem.
Meclizine worked well for me for the couple bouts of vertigo that I suffered...believe me, I KNOW how your wife is suffereng.
