Been on various bcp's for nearly a year with no periods, or nothing more than very limited spotting. Got a full blown period this morning and bleeding heavier than I have in many years. Is this normal? I take the pill back to back so I understood I'm not supposed to get a period. My doc did discover a small fibroid last month but said it's harmless. Could this be a sign the fibroid is growing? Appreciate hearing from anyone that's experienced this.

I am on the pill only for the second month, so I don't have much experience with it yet. I am stopping for the 7 days so I did get a period, not as heavy as before. My doctor had mentioned that if I still bled on the pill, it could be more fibroid problems than hormone problems. I have a cyst, but no one ever mentioned a fibroid. I know they can develope quickly during peri. Sorry I can't help more. Ann

Appreciate your thoughts. Did some research and apparently stress and schedule change can cause breakthrough bleeding. I was working overseas last week so my schedule was way off. Also working 15 hour days for 5 days straight. I'm thinking that had alot to do with this. Still bleeding (day 2) but it's calmed down quite a bit so hoping it will stop soon.
