For the past week I've had pain in my upper right abdomen around my rib cage about a hour after I eat. It last about a half hour. I also had pain in my right shoulder one day and I burp alot when I have the pain. Do you think I should call my doctor, could it be gall stones?

totally sounds like gallbladder- pain in the upper right that goes to shoulder is classic! good luck! keep us posted

Well the doctor wants me to get an ultrasound so I have an appt on Thursday. He said if it shows stones I will get my gall bladder removed and if it shows nothing he's going to run another test to check it. I go back in two weeks.

I had an awful attack tonight. I had it between my shoulder blades which I haven't had before.

I talked to the nurse today. She said I didn't have stones so I am going to have the hida scan done. I have to call tomorrow to see when I'm scheduled for it. They also said my liver was prominent, does anyone know what that means?
