This is a two (something) question. 1st My pschiatrist (sp) says that I have dementia and that he can not find what is causing it. My symptoms are:

Can't remember what i got up out of chair to do? So usually do something else.
Can't put appointments on calendar.
It's hard for me to follow some movies or shows or remember what I watched.
Reread paragraphs in books, Then can't remember what I read.
Don't like being outside.
I hate to get in the bathtub but then i stay in to long.
I love to organize stuff.
I love to play games on computer, can't find any free ones though.
Can't fill out forms I get frustrated and confused when i can't remember the answers.
Get lost when I drive sometimes even in familiar places.
Can't remember words and names I want to say sometimes.
Halted speech sometimes and slurred words.
I am depressed and on meds so I'm happy half the time.
I feel fatiqued. What stage do you all think I am in? Do I belong here on this
board? I can't remember my second question.

Thanks everybody,
Lily

Hi Lily,

Sorry you have all of this to deal with! Could the depression and/or the medicines you take for it be causing these symptoms?

I'd suggest you read the sticky at the top of this thread called The 7 Stages of Alzheimer's and see what seems familiar and how much doesn't. Perhaps you can talk this over with a family member or a good friend.

Then I suggest you see a medical doctor (GP or internist) to see if there's a fixable problem that is causing these symptoms. Take a family member or a good friend with you to the medical appointments, too. The doctor may suggest you see a neurologist or have some tests run.

You didn't mention your age (unless 1954 is your birth year), but if you're over 60, a doctor who specializes in the care of senior citizens might be just the listening ear you need. If you do have Alzheimer's, there are medicines that can slow the progress of Alzheimer's if you start taking them soon enough.

Wishing you well - Barbara :)
