i have been getting this pressure in my eyes the last week and a friend told me it could be a symptom for a stroke. i started toprol last month for high bp(140/90) but could eye pressure be anythign else except a stroke

The stroke hypothesis is unlikely, especially unlikely as caused by slightly high bp.
But just get yourself checked out to be sure.

Doesn't sound like a stroke at all- I wouldn't get any more medical advice from that particular friend. More likely sinus infection.

Glucoma also causes pressure in the eyes.
True, but typically you don't FEEL the pressure with glaucoma- typically, vision problems are the first sign of problems and those typically only result after years of high pressure in the eyes which one usually doesn't even feel. But it certainly wouldn't hurt to have that "puff" test done at an optometrist. I'm betting it's sinus-related.

I'm thinking slight migraines, or more likely, sinus inflammation.
