HI,

I am in the same boat as you are, although I didn't have a hysterectomy,
I guess my metabolism slowed down with age. I am 53, 5'3", and am battling right now to stay under 150, right now I weigh 147. I also go to the gym,
and stay away from salty foods. I strained the ACL liagament in my knee,
so I am limited to 30 minutes on the exercise bike, and weight machines for
my lower body, I have a strain injury in my upper body and cannot lift upper body weights, so I do stretches for my back. When I was walking on the treadmill for an hour at 2.6 mph my weight went down to 143, but the exercise bike is not getting the weight off for me, but I need to do it for my knee.

I went to a nutritiionist a few years ago, but the diet she gave me did not drop any weight, I stayed the same. There was too much starch on the diet, so I knew my weight would not drop, but she said the diet was healthy, it was something like the Zone Diet. I stopped going to her when the diet failed.

Only one diet I ever tried dropped my weigh significantly, it's called the ice cream diet, you can google it if you are interested. You are supposed to
do it for three days and then eat normal for four days, then go back to it. I would lose about four pounds every three days, as long as I kept up the rotation.
I have not done it in rotation for a few years, because I was trying to find a diet that I could stick to everyday and not rotate, but I still fall back on the diet on occasion for a day when all else fails and I get frustrated.

Right now I am trying to stay on a 1200 calorie diet that I found on-line, I like the diet because the starches are limited to two pieces of bread a day, or
1/2 cup pasta, half of bagel, etc. daily and the rest is protein, veggies, and
fruit.

I am trying to get my knee better so I can get back on the treadmill to burn more calories.

I just had to respond to you, because my situation is so similar to yours, and
I get so frustrated.

Good luck to you.
