Ever since these stomach problems started and I figured that my stomach can't handle alot of food, I've been constantly hungry. My diet was vegetarian and really mostly bland prior to the stomach problems so that isn't much of a change although I'm eating alot less calories due to small meals and trying not to eat too much in the evenings. Sometimes afer I eat then my stomach is upset but a couple of hours later, I'm hungry again. Just wondering if anyone else feels hungry alot and is this normal?

Prior to my fundoplication surgery, constant hunger was my largest symptom. I especially craved carbs. After the surgery, I still want to eat carbs but should not. They create gas.

I wonder if I'm hungry because I'm eating small meals. Is hunger a symptom of GERD? I'm still waiting to see the GI Specialist and it seems like years away so don't know what my diagnosis is but i'm hungry. I hope the surgery helped you somewhat anyways.

I've been really hungry since having this bout too and I'm thinking it might be the meds I'm taking. Aciphex ! I know meds can really reek havoc on your system in so many ways and so many things that help me increase my appetite for GERD and FIBRO/LUPUS

I feel terrible and bloated from overeating right now and I could eat a dozen bowls of ice cream or 10,000 pieces of chocolate. :nono: FIGURE !

I also felt hunger pains for awhile that I don't think we're actually hunger. It was an unusual abdominal pain that mimicked hunger but eating did not satisfy. That went away when I started taking digestive enzymes.

Aside from that, maybe you really have hunger. I know I eat less than before-I've actually lost 10 pounds through all this. Have you tried to eat more filling/longer lasting things at meals (whole-grain, etc.)?

I think I really am hungry although one day I skipped an Aciphex pill and I was so nauseous I cuoldn't even think about eating. I haven't tried real filling meals but I could. I just don't know what to eat only what people have posted her not to eat. The lighter foods seems to settle my stomach better.

When I stopped taking the PPIs over a month ago now, I got this feeling too. Eating did nothing to relieve it. It was like severe hunger pains. It went away after a few days and I think my stomach must have adjusted to having more acid.

When I was on PPIs, I hardly ever felt hungry.
