hi there
is there such thing as a fruit-veggie diet?
if there is what do people use it for? to detox or to lose weight?
does it mean that you only eat fruit and veggies the whole day?
......it should lead to weight loss shouldnt eat.....although protein would obviously have to be added...
please help me uncover this confusion

Ankh,
You've described the VEGAN DIET...it's been around for millennia.

Here's what I do....
I have meat (like steak).
I have a salad with veggies added (with either low fat Thousand Island sauce or Salsa poured on top).
Then, for desert...applesauce. Yes, applesauce. I keep a jar of applesauce in the fridge. Other than that, I don't eat that much fruit other than a half a banana (with a small teaspoon of peanut butter on top of it, to get your vitamins) and applesauce. Too much consumption is just too much. One apple a day keeps the doctor away, and you won't wear down your teeth either. I hate eating full apples.

The Vegan diet doesn't usually involve just fruits and veggies though. There are various other things such as whole grains, legumes, etc.

Grains and legumes are very much veggies.
Any diet without meat, grains and legumes is going to be too poor in protein to support life.

Meat isn't needed to support life though. There are various non-meat foods that have plenty of protein in them. And there are people all over the world that lead healthy lives without eating meat.
is it less common to find overweight vegetarians/vegans?
