I took two lab tests this month at my college's health clinic and my fasting blood glucose level is at 107 for both lab test results. The nurse told me that this could be a sign of prediabetes and I should go see a doctor but the problem is that I dont have health insurance yet. Is 107 high for blood glucose level if I was fasting for 8 hours before the test?

It is slightly high according to the latest standards. Normal fasting blood glucose is under 100, from 101-125 is now being diagnosed as either "pre-diabetes" or "insulin resistant" and one is usually diagnosed as diabetic with one or two fasting bgs of 126 or more.
Are you overweight at all? If so, you may be a candidate for Type 2 diabetes down the road, but right now you're at a stage where you can easily control this with diet and exercise. Cut back on carbs (potatos, rice, pasta, white bread, pastries, sugared drinks), and add some form of exercise into your daily routine. You'll need to keep an eye on this, but it isn't a crisis right now, so you can probably delay going to the doctor...just don't ignore it for too long.
Oh, also watch that you don't drink too much...especially mixed drinks. The mixers contain lots of sugar, and sugar is a carb. An occasional glass or two of wine or a light beer shouldn't hurt you...just don't do it too often or more than one or two at a time.
