im on my third pack of aviane pills (monthly) ...and just recently went on spring break...needless to say i forgot to take my pills on time 3 times but did remember to take them with in 24 hours...i was just wondering if i should expect to start my period on time...its supposed to start next saturday...and also ive yet to start my period on time with the placebo pills...out of curiousity at what pill does everyone usually start and end their period on? thanks! :confused:

side bar...because i forgot to take the pills for how long should i use extra protection?

As long as you remember to take them within a few hours it's not normally a problem, to be honest I've never had a problem with upto 24hours. You should take extra precautions for 7days just to be sure.

I don't know anyone who starts their period on the first day of inactive pills, I no longer take the pill as I have Implanon, but I always used to start on the third day of placebos and finish on the second day of taking the active pills. I don't think there is any type of rule with this.

yeah, most don't start on the first day of the placebos. It's different from person to person as to which day though. I agree that you are probably protected.. but it doesn't hurt to use backup for awhile. It's hard to say if it will affect your period, but I doubt it would change it by much.
