I am being treated for GERD but the meds that my doctor gave me didn't work so now he is making me go for a sonogram to look at my spleen and pancreas because of the pains I've been having. They are in my upper left abdomen right below my ribs. He says they are right where me spleen is. Now I'm worried. I don't even know what the spleen is! Has anyone ever had problems with their spleen before and what did the pains feel like? My whole left side is kind of achy but its a dull pain. Once in a while I will have a sharpish pain right under my left breast but mostly it is the dull achy feeling in the rib cage, closer to my stomach.
I'm going for the sono on Thursday but in the meantime I'm starting to get really scared.
