View Full Version : To mono or not to mono, that is the question

I have natural monovision, to a degree. The left eye has a mild bit of astigmatism and can focus well from about 4" to 12" away, then it starts to fall off to where nothing is readable at 3' and everything is blurry from there to infinity. The right eye has great vision beginning at about 3' to infinity. Where I have difficulty is this area of 12" to 36" away and it drives me batty. I've tried progressive lenses (glasses) for about 18 months and the constant moving my head side to side and tilting my head up to read a computer screen is leaving me really fatigued by the end of the day. I just tried getting a contact for the left eye for distance and it was GREAT to see the world so clearly, but the aggravation of wearing reading glasses for everything else drove me nuts. After two days, I chucked the contact. I just want to know what can be done to help me with this? I loved seeing such a wide field of view so clearly, but still need to read and work on a computer screen, too. Any recommendations would be appreciated.
